Overview
Shantibhushan M. Nirmal is an experienced advocate with over 18 years of practice before various courts, tribunals, and regulatory authorities. His practice spans a broad spectrum of litigation and advisory work, with a strong focus on corporate, civil, and criminal law matters.
He regularly appears before Magistrates’ Courts, Civil and Sessions Courts, the Bombay High Court, as well as specialised forums such as SEBI, SAT, RERA, NCLT, arbitral tribunals, revenue authorities, and other quasi-judicial bodies. His practice includes commercial and financial disputes, securities law proceedings, insolvency matters, and tax-related litigation, as well as writ petitions and appellate matters before High Courts.
In addition to corporate and commercial disputes, he has significant experience in civil litigation including arbitration, MSME disputes, property and tenancy matters, debt recovery, succession and testamentary cases, consumer disputes, and family law matters including divorce, maintenance, and child custody. He also handles criminal litigation including cheque bounce cases, bail and anticipatory bail applications, criminal complaints, appeals, and writ petitions.
On the non-litigation side, he advises on legal due diligence for IPOs, property title investigations, drafting of corporate and commercial contracts, property documentation, and testamentary instruments. He also has experience handling regulatory and compliance-related advisory assignments.
Prior to his current practice, he has developed a diverse legal background through extensive courtroom and regulatory experience across multiple jurisdictions and subject areas.
